City Dogs Rescue rescues dogs from crowded kill-shelters, where resources are severely limited, offering a lifeline to as many of these wonderful pups as possible. Sadly, many of the dogs that CDR takes in are just days – and sometimes hours – away from being euthanized for no reason other than lack of space. By finding these dogs permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we can enrich lives – both human and canine.

Police said rescuers in hazmat gear took about 10 hours to remove the animals. They are always so excited to go, and always come home with smiles on their faces . I am particularly happy with how they treat Max, my old guy.
City Dogs & City Kitties rescues adoptable dogs and cats in overcrowded and high-kill shelters, where resources are severely limited. They are looking to place roughly 200 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens in loving homes. We can travel and know that our pups are happy playing all day, safe and well cared for. They have gone to the trouble of hand feeding our picky German Shepherd one time, nurturing our little Boston who thinks she’s a person… it means the world not to have to worry! It’s also so fun to see the photos of the dogs playing together on Facebook. City Dogs Rescue is a 501 animal rescue that was founded by City Dogs Daycare owner Dave Liedman and other volunteer community members.

The animals were taken to a number of shelters with dozens of agencies and groups aiding with the rescue, placement of the animals and support services, police said. We boarded our 2 dogs this April and were so nervous about leaving them for a week since they have never been away from home. They did great and City Dogs sent us videos and messaged us during the week which made us feel so much better. Due to COVID-19 we have closed traditional office hours.

I looked at multiple doggy daycares in the area and decided on City Dogs for a few reasons. No need to book in advance, which allowed me to choose which days to bring her, on the fly. At City Dogs, we care for your dog like our own. We provide cage-free daycare and overnight boarding , staffed 24 hours a day by dog lovers trained to handle friendly dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. We can give your dog the salon treatment in our grooming salon. City Dogs also hosts obedience training for puppies and adults. There are dogs and cats, puppies and kittens in need of loving homes this holiday season and they're available to be adopted from PAWS Chicago. CDR welcomes help in any capacity through volunteering, fostering, adopting and donating. City Dogs Rescue is operated primarily by volunteers working in their spare time. It is a separate organization from City Dogs Daycare with it’s own administrative office. Dogs are housed in volunteer foster homes, and can only be visited after completion and approval of an adoption application. Please do not direct rescue related inquiries to the daycare.
Your dog will spend their days here socializing, romping and playing with friends attended by our caring staff. Then, those staying with us will rest comfortably at night in their own private spaces. We are not a shelter and do not accept animal surrenders at our location, nor do we have adoptable animals onsite. All of our adoptable animals are in private foster homes.
